Many undergraduates are gaining research experience in the Schnable lab as a part of this project.

Biology 490:

Every year five to ten undergraduates participate in a journal club course led by Drs. Schnable and Girton. Scientific papers are reviewed. Students attend scientific seminars which are subsequently discussed by the group. In addition, students learn about the structure of science by reviewing funded grant proposals and discussing admission to graduate schools. Bioethical issues are also discussed.
